The week of January 24 – 28, 2022 is designated by Just Read Florida in partnership with Florida Department of Education as Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida!

TATS is pleased to support the important celebration of literacy by providing a variety resources for assistance and information that will help you incorporate engaging literacy-related activities, conversations, and responsive interactions with children across activities and situations. Please refer to the resources listed below and feel free to share your own resources and ideas with your TATS Regional Facilitator so that your successes can be shared with other Early Childhood programs.

Creating a Literacy-rich Environment in Early Childhood Settings – a document featuring photos and strategies for embedding literacy-related opportunities throughout the Pre-K setting

Embedding Literacy – literacy section of Rock Your Classroom addresses Universal Design for Learning strategies, individualized and targeted instruction, and intensive interventions.

New information regarding Child Outcomes: Indicator 7: FL Child Outcomes Summary Process. Child Outcomes Summary Process (COS) is an exciting way of measuring and reporting the growth of our Pre-K students make. It supports evidence-based practices in developing goals, instruction, and progress monitoring.  Indicator 7 (Child Outcomes Measures) Steps to Quality  provides a fillable form for Step-by-step processes along with references to pages of the TATS Indicator 7 COS Manual.
