About the Process
This section is designed to provide a general overview of the transition process, including Early Steps (Part C) into Pre-K Disabilities (Part B) services, or from Pre-K Disabilities into Kindergarten.
Web Links
This section is designed to provide a list of other web-based resources that may be valuable to parents, families, or program administrators. The information contained in each site can connect individuals to national or other state projects whose focus is transition. Although practices may differ from state to state, the information found here may be helpful in navigating the transition process.
School District Samples
This section is designed to provide samples of school district-created materials that may be helpful in easing the transition process. Recognizing that school districts may, at times, seek to refine their internal processes, this is a repository of sample documents that can be reviewed by program administrators on an as-needed basis. It is a list of resources of "what works" for districts that have voluntarily provided documentation related to their own internal procedures.
Articles and Technical Assistance Papers
This section is designed to include a list of current articles or publications related to educational transitions. Also included in this section are links to current technical assistance papers published by the Florida Department of Education with transition as a focus.
It is the intention of the Transition Workgroup to provide samples of currently used references and resources for those seeking to refine procedures utilized in their own school districts. However, it is not the intention of the Workgroup to supersede Florida Department of Education directives. Additionally, this information is not intended to supplant the child find referral processes in each school district. Families are referred to the appropriate referral agencies in their respective districts.
Feedback
The TATS transition workgroup welcomes feedback related to the information contained on this section of the website. If you would like to provide feedback or would like to share your agency or district samples, please contact us at tats@mail.ucf.edu.
